Salisbury events guide w/c 15th August

How would you like to be entertained this week? 

We have pirates, dragons, exciting theatre, an outdoor cinema and so much more! 

Here is our rundown of the Salisbury events we think you’ll enjoy this week: 

Track down your treasure! 

From 16th to 30th August, you’ll be able to set off on a pirate adventure around Cross Keys Shopping Centre. You’ll have to work out seven clues to unlock the treasure chest and collect a reward! Have you got what it takes to crack the code?  

A dragon in the Cathedral Close 

Quantum Theatre returns to the Rifles Museum on 16th August to perform a fun new adaptation of Kennth Grahame’s The Reluctant Dragon. There a limited tickets available, so book now, bring the family and enjoy an outdoor experience in a beautiful location! 

Family fun at Stonehenge 

You’ll get a good workout if you visit Stonehenge this summer. Those who take a trip to the ancient site will get to try pulling an enormous sarsen stone replica. Are you ready to take on the challenge?!  

As well as this, youngsters will also get to take part in the Kids' Dig activities – with a Stonehenge sandbox full of artefacts ready to be excavated. Both activities run until 4th September. Book online and save money.

Yoga with a difference 

If you’ve ever wanted to try Aerial Yoga, now is your chance! There are summer teen sessions running throughout August, for youngsters wanting a new challenge. Plus, adults wanting some fun can also try beginner classes this month. Find out more by clicking here. 

Scooter Scoots and Wheelchair Walks 

This week sees the next is a series of summer ‘Scooter Scoots and Wheelchair Walks’ with Salisbury Shopmobility.  

Join them at 2pm on 17th August as they enjoy the Salisbury City Art route. You can bring your own scooter or wheelchair, or hire one from Shopmobility for just £3.50. Please book your space in advance on 01722 328 068

Climb aboard for this outdoor theatre 

On 18th August, there’s another outdoor theatre spectacle in the beautiful Arundells garden. The Railway Children will re-tell the classic children’s story in a stunning setting. Make sure you get there early to explore the gardens and enjoy a picnic!  There are only a few tickets left so book now. 

See history come to life 

The long-awaited Living History Weekend is to take place at The Rifles Berkshire and Wiltshire Museum on 20th and 21st August. The popular Coldstream Guards reenactment group will be there along with the Wiltshire Home Guard, and the museum’s own living history group. 

During the weekend, you’ll be able to find out what life was like in the army years ago and discover the equipment and stories from those times! Click here for more information.

Harnham Fun Day 

There’s a lot for the whole family to enjoy at the Harnham Fun Day on 20th August. Games, creative activities, disco and refreshments are just some of what you’ll find at Harnham Parish Hall & Field. It’s on from 1pm to 4pm 

Car boot sales and family movies 

Salisbury City Council’s popular Car Boot Sunday returns this week. The bargain hunting will start at 9am on 21st August. Do you have pre-loved item you’d like to sell at Salisbury’s next car boot? Click here for details. 

Running alongside the car boot sale this Sunday will be the postponed outdoor cinema event. Movie Madness was due to take place during Salisbury Street Sellers last week but it was put on hold due to the hot weather. You can see Encanto at 10:30am and Sing 2 at 12:30pm in the Market Place on Sunday 21st instead.
