Salisbury City Council’s Community Activity Leaders have been working in collaboration with Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP) to produce Activity Packs for the over 60s in the Salisbury area.
We understand that many over 60s have struggled to keep active in the last year due to the global pandemic, and these packs aim to promote and motivate the audience to become more active in a safe way.
The packs include many different components such as 2 types of resistance bands with a 6 week guide, a 30 day seated exercise challenge, a DVD with a whole range of different activities as well as walking challenges and various maps to help people get out and about safely within our City, plus more.
This is the second time that this programme has been released, with 250 packs initially going to Salisbury Care Homes during the first national lockdown.
Leader of the City Council, Cllr Liz Sirman said: “It is so important to remember to stay active during the pandemic. Well done to the Community Activity Leaders for organising these great activity packs which contain various ideas to keep moving for over 60s.”
Another 200 FREE activity packs have so far been distributed to a wider Salisbury audience with help from the Silver Salisbury programme, and we have another 50 available.
