Congratulations to the winners of The Great Salisbury Bake Off!
Salisbury City Council hosted The Great Salisbury Bake Off as part of Foodie Sunday last Sunday (5th September) which gave budding bakers the opportunity to impress the judges with their fantastic creations.
Overall, 14 fantastic cakes were entered into the competition which featured a Stonehenge cake, Biscoff cake, Chocolate stars cake and many more.
The Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr Caroline Corbin, Danny from Charter 1227 Catering, Dan from The Cake Forge and local photographer Spencer Mulholland judged the cakes and were looking for the best decorated, taste and inside look.
The winners were:
1st Place – Jane Sales with her Groot cake
2nd Place – Louise Shergold with her Peter Rabbit cake
1st Place - Chloe Korb with her Fruit Victoria sandwich
2nd Place - Amelia Shergold with her Victoria sandwich with cherries
Jane Sales, who won in the Over 16s category, said: “I was absolutely over the moon to have won in the Over 16’s category. My daughter also loves baking and entered into the competition in the Under 16’s category. We have already been looking on YouTube to see what we can do with the prize which was so kindly donated by The Cake Forge.”
The Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr Caroline Corbin said: “A big well done to the winners of The Great Salisbury Bake Off. It was a pleasure judging the cakes and I was so impressed by the talent of all the bakers in the competition. Thank you to everyone who entered.”
Foodie Sunday marked the tenth and final day of Taste Salisbury; a food and drink celebration across the city.
The event was a great success with tastings, food demos, an array of local vendors and live music throughout the day.
An estimated 2500 people visited the food and drink extravaganza and Salisbury City Council has thanked everyone who visited and took park in the event.
