Last year, St Thomas’ had to run their popular Christmas Tree Festival online due to Covid, but this year it is back in the church! Between 30th November to 5th December 2021 the building will be filled with trees of all different designs, decorated by local groups to raise money for charity.
This year they will be raising money for The Children’s Society and Wessex Stoma Support Group.
The church will be open to visitors 10am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 12pm to 6pm Sunday.
They hope to run a full programme of music again throughout the week. Individuals and groups of musicians as well as singing groups, choirs, and school choirs from both Primary and Secondary schools will entertain visitors. The music programme is as much a part of the Festival as the artistic exhibits.
There will be four practical workshops on making Christmas decorations and arrangements for the festive table and wreaths. These will be held in St Thomas’s House, next to the church on Saturday 4th December 2-5pm, Sunday 5th December 2-5pm and Monday the 6th December, 10-12 noon and 2-5pm. If you would like to book a place on one of these workshops please contact the organiser, Jerry Wilde, on email@example.com or on 01722 333191.
