Our closing evening organ concert sees internationally-renowned concert organist and improviser extraordinaire David Briggs give a concert of works by Franck, Schmidt and Ravel. The concert will close with a substantial improvisation by David on three themes – an exceedingly rare opportunity to hear David’s formidable improvisatory talents live in Salisbury Cathedral.
Our 2022 Organ Festival celebrates the return of our Father Willis organ after extensive maintenance and restoration work throughout 2019. During this time, our organ was removed and serviced in Durham by renowned organ specialists, Harrison and Harrison, before returning to use in February 2020. This restoration project cost in excess of £750,000 and will allow the iconic Father Willis organ to continue to play flawlessly for years to come.
