Get creative with Salisbury's Christmas workshops

It’s never too early to think about Christmas, especially if you don’t want to miss out on taking part in a festive workshop! 

Whether you want to create something christmassy for yourself, or a gift for a loved-one, there is a workshop to suit. 

Festive Workshops At Salisbury Arts Centre 

White Christmas: Make Your Christmas Decorations Pottery Workshop 

3rd November to 1st December 

A five-week course led by Bridget Timoney with opportunities to create a variety of 2D and 3D handmade decorations, including napkin holders, angels and festive nightlight holders to give as gifts and stocking fillers. For that White Christmas feel, the creations will be made from porcelain and white clay and can be embellished and glazed for that special shimmering effect. 

Festive Workshop: Willow Christmas Trees with Louise Brown 

Wednesday 1st December 6pm to 8pm 

An evening of Christmas crafts, making delightful decorations to gift to friends or keep for beautiful homemade decorations. This workshop is led by willow basket-maker, Louise Brown, who has bundles of knowledge and passion for sustainable craft with previous work featuring in exhibitions at Salisbury Arts Centre. 

Festive Crafts with Wiltshire Scrapstore 

4th December at various times through the day 

A festive craft session for 4 to 7-year old's with Wiltshire Scrapstore, with a chance for children to develop their creativity in an inspiring and imaginative festive arts and craft session.    

Festive Workshop: Christmas Wrapping Paper with Bridget Timoney 

8th December at 6pm 

An evening of craft with the chance to make unique festive wrapping paper at Salisbury Arts Centre, led by Bridget Timoney. 

Bridget is an Irish potter based in Salisbury and was the Visual Arts and Pottery Assistant at Salisbury Arts Centre for between 2019 and 2021 

Christmas Workshops At Fisherton Mill 

Fused Glass Christmas Workshops 

12th November and 3rd December 10:00am to 12:30pm (two separate sessions) 

This workshop will allow you to create some bespoke Christmas decorations for you or for gifts. After an introduction to the process, you will learn the basics of cutting or you can create designs using pre-cut glass mosaics and glass shapes and metals. There will be a choice of what you can make. 

     

Knit your own Christmas Baubles 

25th November 6:00pm to 8:30pm 

This workshop covers the technique of knitting on four needles to make a Christmas bauble for your tree. There’s a choice of colours and styles, so lots of scope for making your seasonal decorations this year truly bespoke! Great for quick easy Christmas stocking fillers too. 

Luxury Xmas Wreaths 

10th December 9:30am to 1:00pm and 1:30pm to 5:00pm (two separate sessions) 

In this workshop you will be making a luxury Xmas wreath, starting with a large fresh willow base you can then build your wreath using a combination of different greenery, dried oranges, lime, grapefruit, apple, star anise, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, fir cones, juniper, holly, ivy and much more. Your wreath will smell and look fabulous. Festive snacks and refreshments included.
