The Experience Salisbury website is owned and managed by Salisbury BID. This privacy notice describes how Salisbury BID, the data controller of the Experience Salisbury website, collects, uses and protects your information. 

Salisbury BID takes a proactive approach to user privacy and is committed to ensuring your personal information is protected.

Your information

The information we hold about you comes from the way you engage with us such as if you enquire about our services, offer us content to use on the site, pay for an enhanced listing or subscribe to our e-newsletter. We will collect your personal details, including but not limited to, name, address, contact telephone numbers, email addresses, business name, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts and bank details.

We will process your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 and the Data Protection Act. We maintain strict security standards and procedures with a view to preventing unauthorised access to your data by anyone, including our staff.

Every effort has been made to ensure a safe and secure form to email submission process for our business listings but we advise users using such forms that they do so at their own risk.

Sharing your data

We may use other third-party service providers to provide certain data processing services for us (acting as our authorised data processors). Examples of authorised data processors could include billing and fulfilment partners, IT solution providers, data analytics providers.

When acting as our authorised data processors, our service providers are required to only process data in accordance with our instructions, in line with this Policy, and are subject to appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.

Use of Cookies

Like most websites, when you visit our site we place cookies on your computer or other device. For the most part, these cookies are used to enable the websites' functionality, improve the user experience or help us to optimise our websites, measure traffic and other internal management purposes.

Google Analytics

When someone visits www.experiencesalisbury.co.uk we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collet standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Mailing Lists

As part of the registration process for our e-newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information for:

  • To tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about
  • To contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information
  • To check records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. Santa's Grotto Competition Terms and Conditions

By entering the prize draw you are agreeing to these prize draw terms and conditions: 

The prize draw is open to entrants over 18 years of age. 

In entering the prize draw, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. 

A maximum of two entries per individual is permitted via Facebook and Instagram.

The prize draw is free to enter. 

To enter the prize draw, follow the instructions as specified on the social posts.

The prize is admission for 2 adults and 2 children to visit Santa’s Grotto on a date and time agreed between the winner and Experience Salisbury. Please note that the tickets will need to be booked in advance, subject to availability and redeemed between 08 and 18 December 2022.

The competition will end at 12am on Wednesday 7 December 2022.  

The winner will be drawn at random and only one winner will be picked across Facebook or Instagram. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or Instagram.

The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternatives will be offered. 

The winner will be contacted via Facebook Messenger or Instagram Messenger by the respective Experience Salisbury account.  

The decision of Experience Salisbury regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it. 

Winner announcement 

The winner will be notified after 9am on Thursday 8 December 2022.  

Experience Salisbury will attempt to contact the winner by direct message or email up to two times.  

If the winner does not respond to the direct message or email notifying them of their win within 7 days of the second message, they will lose their right to the prize, and Experience Salisbury reserves the right to choose and notify a new winner. 

Receipt of the prize 

Experience Salisbury will arrange with the winner for to visit Santa’s Grotto on a date and time agreed between the winner and Experience Salisbury. Please note that the tickets need to be booked in advance, subject to availability and redeemed between 08 and 18 December 2022.

Data protection and publicity 

You consent to any personal information you provide in entering the prize draw being used by Experience Salisbury for the purposes of administering the prize draw, and for those purposes as defined within our privacy notice. 

The winner agrees to the release of their first name to any other prize draw participants if requested via Experience Salisbury. 

 An announcement of the winner’s first name or social media account name will be made via Experience Salisbury’s social media pages. 

 All personal information shall be used in accordance with Experience Salisbury’s Privacy Notice. 

Limitation of Liability

Experience Salisbury does not accept any liability for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by any entrants as a result of either participating in the prize draw or being selected for a prize, save that Experience Salisbury does not exclude its liability for death or personal injury as a result of its own negligence. 

 Experience Salisbury does not provide any form of practical or IT support for this prize. On receipt, all responsibilities relating to warranty and the product are that of the prize winner. 

General 

 Experience Salisbury reserves the right to cancel the prize draw or amend these terms and conditions at any time, without prior notice. 

 The prize draw and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
