Unravel the Mystery in this Gripping Thriller at Salisbury Playhouse
If you’re in the mood for secrets, suspense, and a touch of sacred drama, The Da Vinci Code at Salisbury Playhouse is a must-see this spring. Based on Dan Brown’s global bestseller, this stage adaptation is a thrilling journey through cryptic clues, ancient symbols, and high-stakes conspiracies - perfect for fans of fast-paced theatre with a cinematic edge.
Audiences are plunged into the shadowy world of symbologist Robert Langdon and cryptologist Sophie Neveu as they unravel a mystery that begins in the Louvre and spans across some of Europe’s most iconic landmarks. And thanks to some seriously slick stagecraft, that journey feels incredibly real.

The set is nothing short of a theatrical triumph. With minimalist design and clever lighting, it transforms with ease from museum halls to candlelit churches and Westminster Abbey. It’s elegant, imaginative, and proof that less can absolutely be more when the design is this smart.
The cast works very well together as a multi-role ensemble, with Joe Bannister bringing a fresh energy to the famous symbologist, Robert Langdon. However, it is Joe Pitts as Silas, the tormented monk, who is the real standout. Often performing solo, Pitts commands the stage with eerie stillness and emotional depth, turning what could easily be a one-note villain into one of the most complex, memorable characters in the production. His scenes are the most chilling, and moving, moments of the show.
