Did you know Milford Hall Salisbury has had a total makeover? The finishing touches of this £2.5 million renovation are currently being wrapped up, and the transformation is truly impressive. Situated in a Grade II listed Georgian mansion on Castle Street, the hotel offers traditional, executive and standard guest rooms, along with meeting rooms, a bar, a lounge and Sarum’s Brasserie, its on-site restaurant.
The entire hotel now boasts a striking new look, featuring a stunning bar area, calming bedrooms and a restaurant with a contemporary feel. The refreshed interior design aligns with Milford Hall’s transition to become a voco hotel under IHG in the second quarter of 2026. The name voco means “to invite”, and voco hotels are known for their individual charm, welcoming atmosphere, attentive hosts, locally inspired touches and commitment to sustainability.
As part of this transition, all guest rooms have been upgraded with new beds, mattresses, duvets, pillows and power showers, alongside a fresh new aesthetic throughout.
It’s not just the building and its amenities that have been updated – the senior team has also welcomed new talent. Milford Hall Hotel’s new General Manager, Norman Cardoso, brings extensive experience from five-star hotels in the Middle East, luxury six-star cruise lines and specialist butler training. He is passionate about operational excellence, with the guest at the heart of everything he does. Stephen Horner has joined as Director of Sales, while Manoj Kumar has taken on the role of Head Chef.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Milford Hall’s restaurant is not only for hotel guests but also for anyone seeking a tranquil, laid-back dining spot in the city centre. The à la carte menu offers a wide range of dishes, and the chefs are happy to curate menus tailored to guests’ preferences for events and functions. Afternoon tea and grazing boards are also available.
With ample on-site parking, Milford Hall Salisbury is an excellent base for visitors driving into Salisbury for a city break. It’s just a short walk from the Market Square and Salisbury Cathedral, making it ideal for exploring the city on foot.
For Salisbury locals, the hotel also hosts a variety of community groups, with other activities such as mindfulness classes and yoga currently in development.
In addition, Milford Hall takes bookings for weddings, private functions and corporate events. During a recent tour, we met a bride preparing to leave the morning after her wedding, who spoke highly of her experience with Norman and the team: “The service was wonderful from start to finish and the décor was lovely. We had a small and intimate celebration and it was perfect. I highly recommend the food – the steaks were to die for.”
If you haven’t already, be sure to check out Milford Hall Salisbury’s impressive new look. Following its incredible renovation, the team would be delighted to welcome you.
Please note: The Lime Tree Spa will not be reopening.
