Francesca Massey performs in the 2025 Organ Series at Salisbury Cathedral
Francesca Massey is a freelance organist, choral conductor, examiner, and teacher, following 15 years as a cathedral musician. Educated at Cambridge University and the Royal Northern College of Music (where she won the Organ Prize and held an ABRSM Scholarship), she held Organ Scholarships at Windsor Castle, Gonville and Caius College, and Manchester Cathedral. Her career has included roles at Great St Mary’s, Peterborough, Durham, and Rochester Cathedrals.
At 19, she won all the top prizes in the FRCO diploma and was awarded the WT Best Memorial Scholarship, the Musicians’ Company Silver Medal, and the Ian Fleming Award. Her teachers included Kevin Bowyer and David Goode.
Francesca performs widely as a recitalist and accompanist, including broadcasts and recordings with the BBC Singers. Her four solo albums on Priory Records have been critically acclaimed. Based in London, she is active as a liturgical musician, conductor (directing three Kent choral societies), instrumental teacher, continuo player, and RCO examiner.
