The Sir Edward Heath Charitable Foundation is delighted to announce that the 2026 Edward Heath Annual Lecture will be given by Rt Hon Lord Hague of Richmond, William Hague. Join us in the spectacular setting of Salisbury Cathedral as Lord Hague explores how Britain’s greatest leaders have shaped his thinking and can inspire solutions to today’s challenges.

Lord Hague rose from a childhood in South Yorkshire to become one of Britain’s most prominent political figures, serving as Leader of the Conservative Party and later as Foreign Secretary. Since leaving frontline politics he has built an influential career across business, writing, diplomacy and international charitable work, culminating in his election in 2024 as Chancellor of the University of Oxford.
