Running Routes in Salisbury

A city for runners

Pull on those trainers and head off for a run through the medieval streets of Salisbury, taking in some of the most impressive architecture the city has to offer, including the soaring Salisbury Cathedral.

It is a great city for runners as it is mostly flat, fast and fun!

With routes for beginners to the more experienced there is something to suit all levels.

Here are some options to get you out exploring:

A quick and easy jog around Salisbury

Churchill Gardens and Salisbury Cathedral

20 mile Salisbury circular

There are a lot of running trails on the outskirts of the city centre – you can put together your own route using Wiltshire Council’s Explorer Map Right of way explorer.

If you would prefer a flat 5km with other runners, why not join Salisbury parkrun which takes place every weekend at Churchill Gardens. Adults and children are welcome. You can find more information on their website.

Or, why not join a team of runners. The City of Salisbury Athletics Club offers Track & Field, Cross Country and Road Running groups.

If you want to explore at a slower pace, we also have a range of walking routes to make the most of Salisbury and the surrounding areas.
