A company with almost 120 years in business, Southons of Salisbury is an independent furniture shop in the heart of the city centre. Southons was established by Percy Southon in 1907, and, to this day, is still a family-run business. Today, Percyâs grandson Chris is at the helm. Chris (photographed) began work at the family business in the 1980s, alongside his sister, so has extensive knowledge and experience of the industry.
Their Salisbury shop is vast - totalling a colossal 20,000 square feet - meaning there is ample space to display their pieces. Products include sofas, chairs, dining furniture, beds, occasional furniture as well as decorative items for the home including mirrors and artwork. At Southons, you can find both contemporary and traditional style products, making it a haven for interiors fanatics no matter their taste.
Popular brands stocked at Southons include G Plan Upholstery, Parker Knoll, Hypnos beds, Vispring beds, Stressless, Skovby and Ercol. What is important for Chris, and the team, is good quality products. When at trade shows and speaking to suppliers about new products, quality is always the key aspect they consider. This is something their reputation is built on.
As well as quality products, the Southons team pride themselves on their quality service. Several members of the team have been with the business for many years, so their experience is always well-appreciated by customers new and old.
The quality service doesnât just end in the showroom, their delivery service also emulates their excellent customer service. Their in-house delivery people will deliver your furniture, place it in your room of choice and dispose of all packing materials for you too. If youâve purchased a free-standing piece of furniture this will also be assembled as required. For those who also need their old furniture recycling, this is an optional add-on too! From start to finish, the entire service has been considered and well refined.
