Join us to learn about and look for bats in Salisbury. We’ll meet in Victoria Park and start with a short introductory talk about bats. Then, we’ll set off on a guided walk around the park, hearing and seeing bats (and more!) along the way. Everyone will get a chance to use one of our special bat detectors - a clever piece of kit which brings bats’ high-pitched calls down to a frequency we humans can hear.
Who is it for?
This event is suitable for anyone interested in wildlife and wellbeing who wants to spend time in nature with others, learning new things. We value diversity, and hope to create a community that reflects the breadth of people in our society. Please share any medical, mobility or other needs on booking, so we can plan activities that are suitable for all.
What to bring:
Dress for the weather. We will be outside for the duration of the session. Please check the weather forecast and bring waterproofs and warm layers.
You may want to bring a torch (although we’ll try and keep torches off as much as possible, to optimise our night vision and wildlife spotting potential!).
Bring a bat detector if you have one.
Guide dogs are welcome but no other dogs please.
