We are pleased to welcome Dr Christopher de Hamel, medieval manuscript expert, to share his thoughts on the recent return of the 13th-Century Sarum Master Bible to Salisbury. Following a successful fundraising campaign, Friends of the Nations’ Libraries purchased the Bible from a private owner, via Sotheby’s, and donated it to Salisbury Cathedral. But why should it be kept in the Cathedral’s library?

La Nuova Musica | Celebrate Voice Festival 2025

La Nuova Musica present a glorious Handel celebration created exclusively for the Celebrate Voice Festival. The programme pairs arias and duets from a contrasting selection of Handel’s most famous works. Together with Salisbury’s own David Bates and La Nuova Musica, we are delighted to welcome Soprano Mary Bevan and Salisbury-raised Countertenor James Hall - both at the peak of their craft - singing Handel’s powerful and vivid music.
