Every October Salisbury Charter Fair takes over the Market Place to light up the centre of Salisbury and bring fun for all the family!

Find fairground favourites, including dodgems, hook-a-duck, waltzer and ghost train, alongside a variety of exhilarating rides – plenty of options for all ages! Not forgetting the sweet treats and refreshments on offer too – you can’t have a funfair without some candy floss!

In 1227, seven years after the building of Salisbury Cathedral began, King Henry III granted a Charter to the Bishop of Salisbury to hold a fair on the third Monday in October. That same charter granted the city permission to hold a market every Tuesday. Both the Charter Market and Charter Fair are still held to this very day.
