Salisbury Young Artist of The Year 2025
Trevor Horswell, the Curator of Gallery 21 is delighted to announce Gallery 21 of the ‘Official Sponsorship’ of this being the 1st year of it’s conception. It was as a consequence of Trevor supporting local artists, as to how he could further encourage the talents of the young younger artist within the local school community. Whilst at the same time, giving the schools, as well as their pupils an additional opportunity to further evolve and express their talent within their chosen medium.
With the beginning of the Autumn Term the 4 schools who are going to launch the start of this annual competition for young artists who are pupils at the local schools, will soon be being judged by their teachers as to the best pupils able to represent their schools. The 16 to 18 year olds from, The Godolphin School , Sarum Academy, Bishop Wordsworth’s School, and South Wiltshire Grammar School having completed their GCSE or A level exams so they can now present their paintings and participate in the competition. As well as Gallery 21 donating the perpetual trophy and the selected 1st, 2nd, 3rd each receive a professional artist kit to encourage their artistic dreams.
One wonders who will become the first student to hold the title and become the first Salisbury Young Artist of the Year.
The Gallery 21 perpetual Trophy will be awarded to the Winning Artist, to be displayed within their school.
