Castle Hill Country Park

  • Castle Hill Country Park, Ford Road, Salisbury, SP1 3RZ

Castle Hill Country Park is a 55 hectare site at Bishopdown and Hampton Park, on land between Laverstock and Ford. The former farmland provides fine views across South Wiltshire as far as Salisbury Plain to the north and the fringes of the New Forest to the south.

The park is a great place to spot wildlife and the Skylarks in spring are a particular highlight. The park is also popular with runners, dog walkers, cyclists and families.

There is a Pillars & Pavers trail to follow, where you can look for art dotted about the Park (a map of the trail can be found here.)

Also look out for the First World War Memorial Woodland (planted in 2018), play park, basketball court, outside gym equipment and dog agility area.

The park is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is a free car park on Saunders Avenue, Riverdown Park SP1 3PG and another on Ford Road, SP1 3RZ.

There are no toilets at the Castle Hill Country Park.

Dogs are welcome, but please make sure you clean up after them.

Castle Hill Country Park is managed and cared for by The Land Trust and Wessex Grounds Services.
