Salisbury Discovery Nature Trail

Salisbury is our city in the country and you are never far from a wide-open space to enjoy.

To make it easier to explore its green spaces, Salisbury City Council’s Community Team have put together the Salisbury Discovery Nature Trail.

The route is made up of 15 posts (some of which you can see below) with special zinc plaques that you can create a rubbing from. You can find them located in many our parks and open spaces including Queen Elizabeth GardensVictoria Park and Harnham Slope.

Some of the places on the map you may never have heard of before so this trail will give you the ideal excuse to get outside with the family and explore!

If you are feeling energetic you can complete the trail in one go (it will take about a day) or break it down into sections to complete at different times.

Booklets detailing the trail, and where to find the plaques, can be downloaded from the Salisbury City Council website or picked up from the Information Centre and Salisbury Shopmobility.

The booklets also include lots of fun facts for the children, and tips on what wildlife to look out for.

Make sure to visit the Salisbury Discovery Nature Trail Facebook page for more information, and to post pictures of your Discovery Nature Trail adventures!

If you want more outdoor adventure inspiration, we have plenty of Salisbury’s parks and outdoor areas to experience and explore here.
