2022 highlights at Salisbury Playhouse & Salisbury Arts Centre

If you're looking for live theatre, music, workshops and endless fun, Wiltshire Creative has it all this Spring!

The new season showcases the rich cultural heritage of the South West and beyond, and celebrates community, togetherness, and healing through collaboration and locally produced arts.

There are new main house productions and a host of touring productions at Salisbury Playhouse and a collaborative art installation at Salisbury Arts Centre.

Here are some of the highlights we think you should look out for....

Salisbury Playhouse
  • The Fascinating Aïda, with a selection of old favourites, songs you haven’t heard before, and some you wish you’d never heard in the first place! 4th March.
  • Stand-up comedian Stewart Lee’s Snowflake/Tornado. 5th March.
  • Agatha Christie's A Murder is Announced, this lavish production has delighted packed audiences across the UK is brought to you by the company and director who produced the critically acclaimed courtroom thriller The Verdict. 7th to 12th March.
  • The Legend of Sleepy Hollow starring former Coronation Street star Wendi Peters and Bill Ward. 14th to 19th March.
  • An adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s award-winning novel Private Peaceful, adapted for stage by Simon Reade. 25th to 30th April. 
  • Tim Firth’s Sheila’s Island comedy starring Sara Crowe and Judy Flynn. 3rd to 7th May.
  • After his stint in September in the Rain, Ian Kelsey returns to Salisbury Playhouse in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice alongside Christina Bianco. 9th to 14th May.

Salisbury Arts Centre

The centerpiece of Salisbury Arts Centre this Spring will be the FREE exhibition Same Sea, Different Boat, a collaborative art installation by Sue Brown in collaboration with artists Liske Johnson, Louise Asher and Cath Kingzett.

Displayed from 11th January to 5th March 2022, the piece consists of hundreds of hand-printed and stitched stories lovingly produced by individual artists from across the UK and abroad, responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.
