Celebrating the beauty of Salisbury and the surrounding area, Samantha Redmill Art is a gallery and shop run entirely by the artist.
Having lived in Salisbury for 23 years, and loving it, Samantha decided to trial a pop-up shop in the city. The trial went really well and highlighted to her that people want local, affordable art from someone passionate about their craft.
As part of her work, Samantha tries to capture everyday scenes that lift spirits and bring a bit of hope. Currently on her easel are several pieces that celebrate our chalk streams, which she is hoping to exhibit in larger city galleries in the coming year.
In addition to her paintings, Samantha also offers classes and workshops to those looking to get creative. A former art teacher, Samantha is passionate about using her teaching and artistic skills to help others enjoy the regular practice of drawing and painting. From the new year, she will be offering monthly 4-week morning and evening art courses that focus on seasonal landscapes. She will also be running paint and sip evenings in November and December too.
Above all else, the goal for Samantha has always been to build a sustainable business selling her paintings so she is able to give back to her local community, whether via painting murals or offering art classes to those who wouldnât otherwise afford them.
If youâve never been into the gallery, be sure to pop in and have a look around. Samantha understands that buying original art or a limited-edition print takes time, so you wonât be pounced on the second you enter. Instead, she enjoys seeing people connect with the beauty around them, because âconnecting with nature, whether on a walk or in front of a painting, is good for the soul.â
