Family-owned Whites Estate Agents have been proudly serving Salisbury homeowners, landlords, and tenants for nearly seven decades. Founded in 1957, they will be celebrating a huge milestone of 70 years in business in 2027!
Based at Castle Chambers on Castle Street, their team is made up of friendly, local experts. Several of their team have been with Whites for over 20 years, and two for over 30! They pride themselves on having a team that spans all generations, giving them a wonderful mix of long-standing traditional values alongside fresh, modern perspectives.
The business was originally founded by Harry White and partnered with the Shepherd family in the early 1960s before transitioning to Shepherd family ownership in the 1970s. Across nearly seventy years and just two local families, Whites has remained fiercely independent and family-run. Salisbury has such a rich heritage and a tight-knit community feel, and being rooted here has meant they have had the privilege of helping multiple generations of the same local families move.
One thing that truly sets Whites apart is their rigorous professional standards across both sales and lettings. Whites is regulated by RICS (the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), with Managing Director Marcus Shepherd standing as a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), supported by two MRICS trainees working towards their qualifications. Complementing this on the rental side, Lettings Director Sophie Round is MARLA qualified, ensuring clients receive top-tier, industry-regulated guidance at every step.
Huge champions of local sport, as well as keen to be a true part of the local community, Whites are the primary sponsors of the Salisbury RFC Women's Rugby Team. You will often catch Sophie and Marcus cheering on the team from the sidelines!
With major legislative shifts on the horizon like the Renters' Rights Act, Whites are currently exploring hosting informal landlord advice sessions.
