Join us to celebrate the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year and the official start of summer. We’ll meet at the top of Bishopdown Road and take a gentle evening walk up to Castle Hill Country Park to watch the sun set across the Salisbury skyline (even if clouds gather, we’ll know it’s there).
As the light begins to soften, we’ll slow down and notice the changing atmosphere of the evening. Summer twilight is one of the busiest times for wildlife, and we may see bats taking flight, hear swifts calling overhead, and notice birds settling down to roost for the night.
Together, we’ll pause to take in the sights, sounds, and stillness of midsummer evening in nature, surrounded by wide open views and the shifting colours of the sunset sky.
We’ll end the evening with hot drinks, homemade biscuits, and cake as we watch the sun go down before making our way back.
