This November, the Salisbury Chamber Chorus and Nova Foresta Philharmonic will be performing Beethoven’s magnificent Missa Solemnis. Regarded by the composer himself as his greatest composition, this enormous work builds on the traditions of Bach’s B minor mass, Handel’s various oratorios as well as the Viennese mass settings of Haydn and Mozart, but on a scale never before seen.
