Pianist John Reid, former organ scholar and chorister at Salisbury Cathedral, explores the new musical current of expressivity, emotional fluidity and ‘sensibility’, championed (among others) by C. P. E. Bach in the mid-18th century, playing on a copy of a fortepiano of the period.
Salisbury Musick is a three day festival, celebrating early music - from 2nd to 4th October, 2026. As in the eighteenth century, when three day festivals of music were held annually in Salisbury to great acclaim, Salisbury Musick brings together local musicians and visiting experts to provide a wonderful range of concerts, talks and educational opportunities.
