Where to buy your teacher an end of year gift in Salisbury

In just a few weeks, schools will be closing their doors for a much-needed summer break and we think teachers deserve some end-of-term appreciation!

Salisbury is lucky to have a large range of unique and quirky independent shops that make it easy to find the perfect ‘thank you’ gift for your teacher.

Here are some ideas from Salisbury's independent shops...

Casa Fina on Salisbury’s high street is a treasure trove full of gorgeous gifts, perfect for any teacher. Candles, mugs, pretty jugs, eco-friendly bath and body products – these are just some of what you’ll find on offer here.

Recognise Casa Fina? It made an appearance in the BBC’s Interior Design Masters programme earlier this year. Find out more about that here.

Sometimes there’s no better way to say thank you than with a bouquet of flowers. At Shirley Snells Florist on Milford Street there is a team of expert arrangers ready to create beautiful designs for your teacher. They also have ‘Thanks’ balloons! Guillicks Florist also offers an extensive range of flowers, houseplants and gifts. Pick up an arrangement in their Fisherton Street shop or buy online.

It might not be one you think of, but the shop at Salisbury Cathedral is a hidden gem when it comes to gifts. From novelty items to CD’s, cards and games, you can pick them up in the cathedral shop.

If your teacher has a sweet tooth, we would advise a trip to Hardys Original Sweetshop! A traditional British sweet shop on Salisbury High Street, Hardys pride themselves on their stores being "magical emporiums for confectionery connoisseurs everywhere".

Looking for something eco-friendly in Salisbury? On the High Street, Timber Treasures has a vast range of wooden gifts, many of which are handmade using wood from locally sourced timbers.  The company’s founder and owner, David Gladden, creates most of his designs from bits of wood that have been found on the ground, so no need to fell any trees. Products including a wide variety of carved animals and keepsakes as well as beautiful pieces of kitchen, garden and homeware.

At Fisherton Mill you’ll find displays of arts and crafts from over 200 local and British artists. Whether you want artisan chocolates, stylish socks, unique jewellery or original artwork, you’ll find them at this award-winning business on Fisherton Street.
